Summary

CommunityAmerica Credit Union (CACU) is seeking a strong and experienced Senior Data Engineer to support TruHome Solutions, LLC. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining data pipelines across multiple platforms and managing TruHome’s data warehouse to support business intelligence and business operations. This role will also assist with defining and implementing TruHome’s future cloud data architecture and technology solutions. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to gain an understanding of TruHome’s business and data/reporting needs. 
  • Work with business teams to understand and translate business requirements into functional specifications and logical & physical data model requirements. 
  • Create and update data models to support project requirements. 
  • Build, implement and test data pipelines using SSIS and other data integration tools. 
  • Collaborate with architect and BI team in the design and build of subject-area specific data marts that supports business analytics needs. 
  • Take technical ownership of projects and ensure deliverables meet scope, quality and timelines. 
  • Participate in the assessment of cloud data technologies, and definition of future cloud data architecture through working on proof of concepts. 
  • Assist with information access and secure management of data. 
  • Perform optimization of data warehouse queries. 
  • Manage and optimize daily data warehouse refresh schedules and perform other administrative tasks for efficient operation of the data warehouse. 
  • Support development of business intelligence reports and dashboards. 
  • Self-starter with the ability to define clear objectives, collect appropriate information, and develop action plans. 
  • Observe the highest level of confidentiality and a “data security first” approach to all development activity. 
  • Promotes honest and open communication throughout the credit union.

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required. 
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering concepts.
  • 5+ years of data engineering experience in SSIS and/or other data integration technologies. 
  • 3+ years of experience with one or more of Power BI, Qlik, Tableau or Looker.  
  • 3+ years of experience designing and building enterprise BI platforms and solutions. 
  • 3+ years with building/using cloud data warehouse and data marts. 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Experienced in Microsoft SQL Server - SSIS and SSRS/Power BI Reporting Server. 
  • Experience with cloud data engineering and data warehouse technologies in Microsoft Azure, Google or AWS.  
  • Strong technical skills in data engineering, including proficiency in programming languages and technologies such as SQL, Python, Azure Data Factory, and Azure SQL. 
  • Experience with data modeling for data warehouse. 
  • Skilled in Visual Studio with the use of source control applications such as DevOps. 
  • Experience with CICD. 
  • Familiarity with data management principles and best practices, including data governance, data quality, and data integration. 
  • Exceptional analytical and problems solving skills coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and senior management. 
  • Thrives in ambiguous technology situations. 

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Financial industry knowledge 
  • Development in Agile Frameworks using tools like Azure Dev Ops
