Summary

*Located in St. Louis, Missouri* The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator/Technician is responsible for repairs and maintenance of credit union retail branches and/or corporate headquarters locations. Ensures all grounds and facilities are well-groomed, maintained, and safe for employees, member-customers, and tenants (if applicable).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintenance and safety of all buildings and grounds using preventive maintenance procedures and producing related documentation.
  • Performs basic engineering and maintenance tasks related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, door hardware, card readers and systems furniture.
  • Secures appropriate outside resources as necessary.
  • Acquires bids, oversees service agreements, and monitors expenditures on repairs and maintenance services.
  • Reviews property-related invoices for completeness and payment.
  • Oversees repair projects and evaluates contractor work performance.
  • Coordinates with Manager, Corporate Properties, and other facility staff to ensure proper support is received at all credit union locations.
  • Works closely with branch management regarding service requests and regularly communicates status.
  • Conducts annual facility assessments and provides appropriate budget requirements for maintenance and repairs to management.
  • Provides monthly time-tracking report assigning effort to the appropriate building or project.
  • Promotes honest and open communication throughout the credit union.
  • Demonstrates behaviors that are consistent with the credit union’s values, philosophies, and leadership characteristics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of commercial building systems, maintenance, repair as well as safety codes, rules and regulations regarding the operation of equipment, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Experience with electrical wiring and low voltage cabling.
  • Proficient with general plumbing repairs.
  • Ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical plan drawings.
  • Proficient with hand tools, common power tools, and fine measurement tools.
  • Proficient with laptop or tablet.
  • Ability to use a workorder software system such as ServiceNow.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use lighting control, energy management, building automation systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate appropriately with vendors and employees.
  • High level of dependability/responsibility required.
  • Strong organizational skills required. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to self-initiate and look for areas of opportunity, make recommendations for improvement, and follow up as necessary to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict and miscommunications.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and able to operate and maintain assigned motor vehicle safely, independently, and reliably.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Journeyman plumber
  • Journeyman electrician

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five (5) year in maintenance-type work in an office and/or retail setting is required.
