THe role of the Relationship Specialist -Floater (Personal Banker) is responsible for assisting members in various services including but not limited to opening, maintaining and closing accounts, taking, processing and closing loan requests. Listening to members' needs and offering smart financial solutions via credit union products and services.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists members with opening, maintaining and closing accounts, answers questions about products and services and resolves problems that are within their authority to resolve. Refers problems that are beyond their authority to their supervisor, along with their recommendations. Responsible for servicing members with online and digital requests. To process loans from application to disbursement. Identifies referral opportunities and cross-sell services to members.
  • Actively and professionally refer credit union services. Perform outbound calls and emails to members regarding available products and promotions.
  • Achieving retail goals and performance standards given by the credit union.
  • Process member transactions. Research and resolve complaints regarding transactions while fulfilling member needs to ensure member satisfaction. Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relationships with members. Ensure you keep members informed of Credit Union services and policies. Ensure that members' problems or questions are courteously and promptly resolved. Follow up is provided as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Follow credit union policies, procedures, mission and values. Understand and follow the laws and regulations related to the role. Understand the concept of negotiable instruments, endorsements, collected funds, check holds, and when a check may be safely cashed.
  • Support overflow needs both within and outside of the department as time allows.

Requirements

ExperienceOne to two years of similar or related experience.
EducationA high school education or GED.
Interpersonal SkillsExcellent communication and member service skills. Professional appearance, dress, and attitude. Attention to detail and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
Other SkillsBasic Microsoft Office Suite experience. Be receptive to learning new task, recognize the steps necessary to get the job done, and show initiative in looking for ways to improve processes/duties and assist others.
