Summary

The Senior Mortgage Advisor is a branch-based position that obtains mortgage loan referrals from a set of branches in their region and develops relationships with referral sources outside of the credit union to obtain 1st mortgage business that otherwise would not be available to the credit union.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships within assigned branch’s personnel and members by being professional, proactive, and courteous.
  • Procure 1st mortgage loans through the branches in addition to resources outside of the credit union, such as but not limited to Real Estate Agents, Builders, Financial Advisors, etc.
  • Cross sell other credit union products.
  • Promotes honest and open communication throughout the credit union.
  • Demonstrate behaviors that are consistent with the credit union’s values, philosophies, and leadership characteristics.
  • Work with other credit union departments to ensure the workflow or process is providing the best service to our members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in a 100% commissioned sales position in the mortgage lending space.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient knowledge of all mortgage loan products.
  • Proficient knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA/VA/USDA.
  • Working knowledge of Origination Software Systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  • Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict and miscommunications.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet software and ability to use word processing software.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must be willing and able to implement a Business/Marketing plan.
  • Must be able to be bonded.
  • Must have or be able to obtain NMLS registration.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to project a high degree of professionalism and positive image of themselves and the credit union.
  • Demonstrates a proficiency of sales aptitude, strategies, and techniques.
