GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

This position is responsible for supporting TruHome’s originations and servicing teams through continuous monitoring of new and emerging state and federal requirements, as well as investor and agency guidelines. The position ensures that new laws, regulations, and guidelines are received, reviewed, analyzed and communicated effectively to appropriate internal departments and further holds stakeholders accountable to implement required changes. In addition, this position performs compliance research in support of business needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Closely monitor federal and state law and regulation and agency and investor guidelines. Stay up to date with all changes and trends.
  • Summarize and effectively communicate changes to appropriate TruHome departments, including client relations staff.
  • Maintain a tracking system to follow-up with departments and ensure procedure changes and related training necessary to comply with changed requirements have been implemented.
  • Assist in training staff on compliance related issues when appropriate.
  • Assist TruHome personnel in implementing regulatory changes.
  • Assist in preparing the quarterly Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) file for clients and TruHome.
  • Assist in preparing Sections I and II of the quarterly Mortgage Call Report (MCR) for TruHome.
  • Assist TruHome personnel in implementing regulatory changes.
  • Maintain working knowledge of compliance-related matters, serving as a resource to the organization.
  • Promote honest and open communication throughout TruHome.
  • Demonstrate behaviors that are consistent with the TruHome’s values, philosophies, and leadership characteristics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Background in regulatory compliance. Ability to read and understand law and regulation and effectively summarize substantive information for stakeholders.
  • Ability to think analytically and strategically.
  • Effective project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including oral and written communications.
  • Must be self-directed and capable of working with little supervision, having the demeanor and ability to safeguard highly confidential information.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management as well as clients.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must be able to be bonded.

 

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

In this position, individual will be expected to lift up to 20 pounds from time to time.  Also, must be able to stoop, bend, reach or stand and use a computer for extended periods of time

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position is expected to work in general office environment and may have to travel for visits to other facilities or for training purposes.

 

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in political science, business administration, or equivalent.
  • Experience in the financial services industry required.
  • Mortgage banking compliance experience preferred.
