This position leads the treasury sales cycle, provides subject-matter expertise to internal partners, and contributes to market strategy, deposit growth, fee income, and an exceptional member experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

Senior Relationship Management & Advisory:

  • Manage and deepen a portfolio of complex or high-value business relationships by understanding each member’s operating model, cash-conversion cycle, risk profile, strategic priorities, and decision-making structure.
  • Lead periodic treasury reviews and executive-level conversations to identify opportunities to improve liquidity, automate payments and receivables, strengthen controls, grow deposits and fee income, and expand the overall relationship.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex treasury needs and service issues, coordinating timely resolution and communicating clearly with members and internal stakeholders.

Business Development & Portfolio Growth:

  • Own assigned goals for business deposits, treasury fee revenue, solution adoption, retention, and new relationship acquisition. Develop and execute market and portfolio plans, maintain a disciplined pipeline and accurate forecasts, and prioritize opportunities based on member value, strategic fit, and likelihood to close.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline through proactive outreach, internal partnerships, referrals, community engagement, and active business development activities within the credit union’s footprint.
  • Lead the full sales process from prospecting and discovery through workflow analysis, solution design, pricing, proposal development, presentation, negotiation, implementation handoff, adoption, and post-implementation follow-up. Partner with internal teams to balance member needs, operational capability, risk, and relationship profitability.

Treasury Solutions & Risk:

  • Design and present integrated solutions across payables, receivables, ACH, wires, remote deposit capture, commercial cards, information reporting, liquidity and deposit management, online and mobile banking, and fraud-mitigation tools. Apply sound judgment regarding product fit, operational feasibility, controls, regulatory requirements, and implementation readiness.
  • Perform workflow analysis and consult with business members to align treasury solutions with operational needs, risk considerations, and member priorities.
  • Clearly articulate the value of treasury management solutions through proposals, presentations, product education, and ongoing advisory conversations.

Leadership, Partnership & Market Expertise:

  • Act as a treasury subject-matter expert for Commercial Relationship Managers, lenders, branches, frontline teams, deposit operations, credit, risk, compliance, implementation, senior management, and other partners. Lead joint calling and relationship strategy, share market and competitive insights, support product and process improvements, and represent the credit union in appropriate business and community activities.
  • Coach and mentor less-experienced treasury team members and provide structured product, sales, and referral education to internal partners; this role does not have direct supervisory responsibility unless assigned.
  • Maintain complete and timely activity, pipeline, pricing, call-report, and relationship data in the designated CRM and related systems. Monitor results, identify trends, and recommend actions that improve sales effectiveness, member adoption, service delivery, and risk management.
  • Promote candid, respectful communication and demonstrate behaviors consistent with the credit union’s values, philosophies, risk standards, and leadership expectations.
